We’ve upgraded ZebPay Futures to make trading easier and more accessible for Indian users. You can now trade USDT-paired crypto futures (like BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT) directly using your INR balance as margin — no need for manual conversions or additional fees.
What’s New?
Previously, INR-based trading was limited to INR-paired futures. With this enhancement, you can now:
- Use INR directly as margin for USDT-paired trades.
- Experience automatic INR-to-USDT conversion—no manual steps required.
- Benefit from a locked exchange rate that stays fixed for the entire duration of your position, shielding you from rate fluctuations.
How INR Conversion Works
When you place a trade using INR as margin:
- We calculate the existing USDT-INR rate to calculate the INR - equivalent margin required for the trade.
- The USDT-INR rate is locked when the position opens and remains unchanged until it is closed.
- There are no fees or TDS on this conversion.
- Rates are revised periodically, but only affect new positions. Existing trades continue at the rate locked when they were opened.
Trading Interface & Margin Rules
- INR margin will be visible in your margin balance section.
- You’ll always see the current conversion rate before confirming a trade.
- You can only use one margin type per pair at a time. For example, if you’ve opened a BTC/USDT position using INR, you must close it before opening another one in the same pair with USDT.
How to Trade with INR
- Open the ZebPay app and head to the Futures tab.
- Select a USDT-paired asset (e.g., BTC/USDT).
- Choose INR as your margin.
- Review the displayed conversion rate.
- Place your trade—ZebPay takes care of the rest.
Example
If you have ₹10,000 in your INR wallet and open a BTC/USDT long position:
You select INR as your margin asset.
You’re shown the current rate (e.g., ₹84 per USDT).
That rate is locked for your trade, no matter how long the position stays open.
Even if the USDT-INR rate changes in the market, your trade remains unaffected until you close it.
Hold on! Here’s a bonus update for you!
We’ve completely revamped the navigation on the Futures tab to make it more user-friendly. We’re confident this update will enhance your trading experience!

Frequently asked questions
Q1: Will I be charged any fees or taxes for INR to USDT conversion?
Ans: No. There are no fees or TDS applicable on the conversion. The conversion is automatic and free of charge.
Q2: What happens if the USDT-INR rate changes after I place a trade?
Ans: Nothing changes for your open position. The conversion rate is locked at the time your position is created. Even if the rate is revised later, your trade will continue at the rate you started with, until the position is closed.
Q3: Can I switch between INR and USDT as margin for the same trading pair?
Ans: No. Once you open a position in a specific trading pair using one margin asset (INR or USDT), you cannot open a second position in the same pair using the other margin. You must fully close the first position before switching margin types.
Q4: Where can I see the conversion rate before placing a trade?
Ans: The USDT-INR conversion rate is clearly displayed on the “Adjust margin” screen when you add/reduce INR as your margin. You can review it before confirming the trade.
Q5: What if I don’t have any USDT in my wallet? Can I still trade USDT pairs with INR?
Ans: Yes! That’s the benefit of this update. You can trade USDT pairs using INR only, without holding any USDT balance.
