Manage multiple trading strategies, delegate access, and keep your crypto activities neatly organised — all under one ZebPay account!
What Are Sub-Accounts?
Sub-Accounts feature allows you to create up to 10 additional accounts linked to your main ZebPay Account (also referred to as the Master Account). Each Sub-Account shall have its own login credentials. You will be able to assign different feature permissions to each Sub-Account making it ideal for managing separate trading strategies or organising your portfolio across different services.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs):
1. Can I use my existing ZebPay email address for a Sub-Account?
- No. Your Sub-Account email addresses must be unique and not already registered on ZebPay. You'll need a separate email for each Sub-Account you create.
2. Does the Sub-Account creation need any KYC steps to be completed?
- We do not require a separate KYC. Sub-Accounts automatically inherit the KYC and bank account verification status of the Master Account. If the Master Account's KYC is not complete, Sub-Accounts cannot be created.
3. What happens if the invite sent on Sub-Account email is never accepted?
- The Sub-Account stays in an 'Invited' status and cannot be used for trading. The Master Account can resend the invite at any time from the Sub-Account dashboard, or cancel it and start fresh.
4. Can I set a different PIN for my Sub-Account than my Master Account?
- Yes. Each Sub-Account must have its own unique PIN, completely separate from the Master Account's PIN.
5. Can the same person manage both a Master Account and a Sub-Account?
- Yes. Both the Master Account and any Sub-Account must be held and operated solely by the same individual whose KYC details are registered on the ZebPay Platform. However, each account requires its own login credentials.
6. How many Sub-Accounts can I create?
- You can create up to 10 Sub-Accounts under one Master Account.
7. Can I change a Sub-Account's permissions after it's been created?
- Yes. The Master Account can update permissions for any Sub-Account at any time from the Sub-Account dashboard. Changes take effect immediately.
8. Can a User change the Sub-Accounts permissions?
- Yes, the User holding Master Account can grant or revoke permissions. Sub-Account can only access the features that the Master Account has enabled for the Sub-Account.
9. Can a Sub-Account see other Sub-Accounts' balances or activity?
- No. From each Sub-Account you can only view the balances, orders, and activity of that particular Sub-Account. The consolidated view is only available from the Master Account.
10. What are the actions available for managing a Sub-Account?
- The Master Account has three options for each Sub-Account: Freeze (temporarily disables the account), Unfreeze (restores access after a freeze), and Delete (permanently removes the Sub-Account). These are available from the Master Account from the Sub-Account dashboard under the “Manage” section.
11. What happens when I freeze a Sub-Account?
- You will not be able to log in or perform any trading activity from that Sub-Account. The account and its balances shall be transferred to the Master Account automatically; nothing is lost. The Master Account can unfreeze it at any time to restore full access.
12. What happens to a Sub-Account's balance if I delete it?
- At the time of deletion the Sub-Account would already be in a freeze position, thereby automatically all funds would have been transferred to the Master Account.
13. If the Master Account is frozen or restricted, what happens to Sub-Accounts?
- If the Master Account is restricted or suspended, all linked Sub-Accounts will also be restricted.
14. Can a Sub-Account deposit or withdraw INR or crypto directly?
- No. Deposits and withdrawals can only be performed through the Master Account. If a Sub-Account needs funds, the Master Account must transfer the required amount.
15. Can Sub-Accounts transfer funds to each other?
- No. Transfers are only permitted between the Master Account and a Sub-Account. Direct Sub-Account to Sub-Account transfers are not supported.
16. If a Sub-Account makes a profit, where does it show up?
- Profits and balances are held within the Sub-Account. The Master Account can view all Sub-Account balances from the central dashboard and transfer funds back to the Master Account when needed.
17. Can I download a single statement covering all my Sub-Accounts?
- Yes. The Master Account can download a consolidated statement that combines activity from the Master Account and all Sub-Accounts. The statement of each Sub-Account appears as a separate tab in the consolidated statement.
18. How do I download a consolidated statement?
- Go to ‘Statements’ in your Master Account, open the dropdown, and select ‘Consolidated’. You can then apply date range and account type filters before downloading.
19. Can a Sub-Account download its statement from the Sub-Account?
- Yes. You can also download statements for your own Sub-Account's activity from within the Sub-Account login.
20. Can I filter statements by a specific Sub-Account?
- Yes. In the ‘Statements’ section, use the dropdown to select a specific Sub-Account, then apply date range and account type filters as needed.
21. What if I forget the Sub-Account PIN?
- You can reset the PIN through the usual 'Reset PIN' process in the ZebPay app. The Sub-Account shall have to undergo the same ‘Reset PIN’ process, as used for Master Accounts.
22. Can a Sub-Account e-mail be linked to a different Master Account?
- No. Once a Sub-Account is linked to a Master Account, it cannot be transferred to or linked to another Master Account.
23. Is there two-factor authentication for Sub-Account login?
- Yes. Sub-Account login includes email OTP verification as part of the authentication flow, in addition to the PIN set up during onboarding.
